Lure Building Classes
Lordship Lures is proud to present our new series of Wooden Lure Building workshops for anyone interested in checking out this rapidly growing hobby. All lure building classes are taught by myself, a life long woodworker with several years experience teaching at Woodcraft on subjects including; Basic and Advanced Router, Table Saw, Cabinet Making, and Jointer & Planer Basics.
We offer full day workshops (7 hrs) with a maximum of 3 students per class to insure personal attention, safety, and a "hands on" experience in learning all the steps involved in creating a wooden fishing lure. The 3 person class size helps to make sure we cover the material you want. All classes are held on premises in Stratford, CT where our lures are produced using our fully equipped shop.
Our full day workshop will cover every aspect of plug building including the importance of setting up your equipment for safety and accuracy.The plug building process will be covered from start to finish and we will show different techniques for doing several steps. For example, we will cover hand turning with chisels and also turning with a duplicator. Painting with an airbrush, and using spray cans will also be covered.
At the end of the day, you will leave with a plug that you made, but more importantly, you will leave with the knowledge to start making your own custom plugs. Experience the thrill of fooling a nice fish on an artificial lure that you made with your own hands!
We also offer 3 hr classes specifically targeted to certain aspects of the building process.
Whether your thinking about getting started in plug building or you've already begun, our plug building classes can save you countless hours of trial & error and save you lots of money on wasted material. We can also help you decide on the right equipment for your needs.
We can also schedule full & half day private lessons for one on one instruction were you determine exactly what you want to cover. We can even help you set up & tune your own equipment (provided that it's portable and you can get it here)

Full day workshop (7 hrs)......$165.00 per person (Class size 3 people)
Full day private workshop......$385.00
3 hour private workshop........$195.00 (weekdays 6PM-9PM)

*$75.00 deposit required to reserve your place in our full day workshops.

*Classes must be paid in full before workshop starts.
Our last spring class will be June 5th. Classes will resume in November after fishing season.
We will begin taking deposits for fall/winter classes as soon as we post the schedule
* We will post our Fall/Winter scedule in Sept. (No summer /early fall classes)

We are conveniently located off exit 30 of I95 and just a 5 min drive from the Port Jefferson Ferry. (We can arrange ferry pickup for walk-on passengers)
